Prince of Peace household held their third annual car wash fundraiser on April 5 behind St. Thomas More Hall.

“Nobody else does it – we want to be unique,” said Dominic Barceleau coordinator of Prince of Peace in response to why the household chooses this particular fundraiser. “Also, none of us is good at baking. And in principle, (the car wash) is fun.”

The household, which is based out of Trinity Hall, had signs around campus directing cars to the small side street next to St. Thomas More Hall where they were prepared with hoses, soap and drying rags.

“The brotherhood and bonding that comes from the car wash is really what is the best,” said Barceleau.

Eddie Bardella, member of Prince of Peace, agreed, “There’s nothing like being together and washing Dean Schmiesing’s car in 37 degree weather!”

Barceleau said that the car wash is generally successful and garners the household enough money to fund their semester retreat, which is their main goal each year. He said they hoped to be able to raise the bar next time by attracting people driving on University Boulevard.
