Seminar discusses Christ-centered relationships

The annual Household Fair was held Sept. 3, from in the Finnegan Fieldhouse, where many of the 46 households on campus set up booths and spoke with students about their charisms, covenants and commitments.

Franciscan University introduced households to its campus in December 1974 when the Rev. Michael Scanlan, T.O.R., was making numerous efforts to get university students more involved with their faith.

"Today, households are still what Father Michael Scanlan desired them to be-imitations of small Christian communities that existed in the first century," said the Rev. Gregory Plow, T.O.R, coordinator of households.

Ministry fair highlights opportunities to serve

Franciscan University kicked off the school year on Aug. 23 with a well-attended ministry fair in the J. C. Williams Center, hosted to promote the campus' various ministries to new and returning students. There were hundreds of students in attendance and more than 20 different ministries or campus retreats represented, from local homeless, soup kitchen and nursing home ministries, to off-campus beach ministries such as the Sonlife Mission trip.
