Latinos for Christ hosted a Fiesta de la Noche on Feb. 14 to give those on campus something non-traditional to do for Valentine’s Day. The event was full of vibrant energy the entire night.
Students overall enjoyed themselves and were pleasantly surprised by the event, which was held in the JC Williams Center.
“I had friends that were talking about it and said it would be really fun, so I decided to check it out,” said freshman Ethan Jock.
Latinos for Christ club members served authentic Mexican dishes such as nachos and valentine-themed deserts as well as mixed soda drinks.
“The food was insanely good!” said Jock. “But what I really liked was the hospitality that the club offered. They were all super friendly distributing the food and wanted to make sure everyone had a really good time.”
In addition to the food, the musical selections garnered strong approval among the students attending the event.
“It was so much better than I was expecting,” said sophomore Liz Knab. “The music choices were really good, and having an actual DJ changing it up and adding sound effects made it a good time.”
She also added that the mix of Mexican dance music and other upbeat songs “[kept] the momentum and energy going.”
Jock said, “It was really great, and I will definitely be checking out more events from the Latinos for Christ in the future.”
