Student is 2009 Sailor of the Year

Student Mark Bristol receives the 2009 Sailor of the Year Award for the naval reserve submarine force serving the Atlantic fleet. Only two such awards were given.

     Franciscan University philosophy major Mark Bristol received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal on April 10 in San Diego.

On April 13, Dr. Max Bonilla, who later said that sometimes one has to step aside for the good of the mission, resigned from the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs at Franciscan University of Steubenville. The Rev. Terence Henry, president of the university, appointed business professor Thomas Wilson, J.D., as Interim VPAA.

'Christopher Columbus' play is intoxicating

Andy Ward and Dan McNally perform as drunken sailors in 'Christopher Columbus in the Academic Night performance on April 15 in Anathan Theater. The play written by Paul Claudel was translated, adapted, and directed by Kazimierz Bruan, and performed with a class of more than 50 people.
